Povjerenje u procesu auditiranja i sposobnosti da se postignu ciljevi zavise od kompetentnosti pojedinaca uključenih u planiranje i provođenje audita. Auditori trebaju posjedovati znanje i vještine za provođenje audita. Praćenje razvoja kompetencija svakog auditora, principi za provođenje audita koji se odnose na auditore, postupci za vrednovanje i izbor internih auditora za provođenje internih provjera sistema upravljanja kvalitetom, kao i održavanje i poboljšavanje kompetentnosti auditora u akreditovanim laboratorijama na Institutu »Kemal Kapetanović« u Zenici, Univerziteta u Zenici dati su u ovom radu.
