Svrha rada je prikaz procesa akreditacije studijskih programa u kontekstu regulatornog okvira na području Tuzlanskog kantona. Pristup u radu se temelji na slučaju Univerziteta u Tuzli u oblasti akreditacije studijskih programa po modelu klastera. Kombinirajući sistem unutrašnjeg osiguranja kvaliteta koji rezultira samoevaluacijskim izvještajem sa procesom vanjskog osiguranja kvaliteta, Univerzitet u Tuzli ulaže napore kako bi u postupku akreditacije studijskih programa pokazao ispunjenost utvrđenih standarda i kriterija. Prihvatajući pristup kontinuiranog poboljšavanja, kroz naknadne aktivnosti po saznanju ishoda procesa akreditacije, Univerzitet doprinosi izgradnji evropski prepoznatljivog sistema kvaliteta visokog obrazovanja u Bosni i Hercegovini.
