Pandemija koronavirusa uticala je na sve segmente društva. Virus se naglo proširio na sve kontinente i zemlje svijeta. Pandemija je poprimila takve razmjere da je ugrozila ljudsku civilizaciju. Države su se snalazile na razne načine i donosile mjere koje su davale rezultate. Međutim, mnoge mjere su ugrožavale demokratiju i ljudska prava. Neke mjere su bile nepopularne, jer su ograničavale kretanje, policijski sat, nošenje maski, izolacija… Pandemija je prekinula proces globalizacije, a države su se zatvarale u svoje granice… Pronalazak i proizvodnja vakcine za koronavirus, vratio je nadu u bolju budućnost. Međutim, proizvodnja i raspodjela vakcina nisu bile usklađene. Do izražaja je došao profit proizvođača. Najteže su pogođene male, siromašne i zemlje u razvoju.
